| Obverse description | Black intaglio on pink and green guilloche underprint. A winged dragon vignette occupies the left border, with the Argentine Coat of Arms at upper center flanked by the large numeral '5' on either side. An oval portrait of jurist Dalmacio Vélez Sarsfield appears at right, with the central panel bearing the bold legend 'LA NACION' above the denomination in cursive script. Two manuscript signatures appear at lower center, with the date 'Buenos Aires, 1° de Enero de 1895' and a red serial number printed below. |
