| Obverse description | Draped bust of Liberty facing left, her hair elaborately coiffed and adorned with a floral ornament at the nape of the neck, occupying the central field. The circular legend CONFEDERACION GRANADINA arcs around the periphery, separated from the bust by a beaded inner border. The date 1862 appears in the exergue below the truncation. The design is rendered in high relief with fine detail on the hair and drapery, characteristic of mid-nineteenth-century Colombian coinage. |
