Obverse description	The obverse is divided into two distinct panels: the left panel, printed in red-orange, carries a tall vignette of a classical female allegorical figure holding scales of justice and a torch, set within an ornate border with the inscription CINCO PESOS below. The right panel, printed in black on a light ground, bears a central maritime vignette of a steam-paddle vessel under sail at sea, above the bold manuscript-style legend Manuel Antonio de Luzarraga and a promise-to-pay text in Spanish dated 8 de Diciembre de 1861, with the denomination CINCO PESOS overprinted in red and the place of issue Guayaquil noted. The numeral 5 appears in red at both upper corners of the right panel, framed by guilloche ornamental borders.

Reverse description	The reverse is a mirror impression of the obverse, printed in pale olive-green and rose tones, confirming its status as a trial or proof strike; the left portion shows the ghost impression of the maritime steam vessel vignette and the Manuel Antonio de Luzarraga legend in reverse, while the right panel retains the allegorical female figure with scales in faint pink guilloche border. Five cancellation punch holes are visible along the lower margin, consistent with trial or specimen treatment.
