Reverse description The reverse features a stylized rendition of the Libertad cap-and-rays motif, rendered in a bold graphic design that divides the field diagonally between a frosted upper-left area and a mirror-polished lower-right field. The Phrygian cap bearing the inscription LIBERTAD sits at the apex of radiating sunbeams that fan across the center of the coin. The commemorative dates 1905 and 2005 flank the ray design at mid-field, recording the centennial of the Mexican monetary reform. The denomination $5 appears in large characters in the lower center, while the Mexican Mint mark Mo is positioned to the right of center. The legend REFORMA MONETARIA curves along the upper periphery, with a decorative band of dashes bordering the outer rim, and a sprig of cactus and an oak branch adorn the lower left and right fields respectively.
