Reverse description The reverse presents the arms of Catalonia at center: a vertically striped shield bearing four vertical bars on a plain field, surmounted by a closed royal crown decorated with fleurs-de-lis and pearls. The shield and crown are rendered in relief within the plain inner field, flanked by a rope or wreath border that encircles the entire design close to the rim. The outer edge is defined by the same beaded border found on the obverse. No legend or lettering appears on the reverse; the heraldic device alone identifies the issuing authority.
