| Reverse description | Printed in blue-green ink, the reverse presents an oval guilloche underprint at centre with a large numeral '5' superimposed, flanked by serial numbers on both sides. Decorative corner devices with foliate and geometric motifs occupy each angle, and the inscription 'ADMINISTRACIÓN COLECTIVA' arcs across the upper portion of the oval, while 'PESETAS' is set in large capitals along the lower margin. Naval is a village in the Huesca province of Aragon, and this note is one of hundreds of hyper-local emergency issues produced during the Spanish Civil War when Republican-held communities ran desperately short of small change. The CNT-FAI collectivities effectively replaced municipal and state authority across much of Aragon in 1936–37, and local currency was a practical necessity, not an ideological gesture — coin had vanished from circulation almost immediately after the July 1936 coup.
Gráficas Bobés of Barcelona printed for numerous collectivities simultaneously, which is why notes from otherwise unconnected villages share obvious typographic similarities. The Aragon Collectivities were forcibly dissolved by Communist-aligned Republican forces in August 1937, rendering all such scrip worthless overnight.
