Colectividad Nueva Aurora was one of dozens of anarchist collectives that sprang up across Aragón following the July 1936 uprising, and like many of them, it issued its own local scrip when the war effectively severed normal monetary supply lines. Molinos, a small municipality in Teruel province, produced these notes under the collective's administration to keep internal exchange functioning when Republican pesetas were simply unavailable in sufficient quantity.

The handstamp security feature is characteristic of the entire category — rural collectives had no access to professional printing security, so a rubber or metal stamp applied at issuance served as the primary authentication. Redemption was never guaranteed once the Nationalist advance through Aragón in the spring of 1938 collapsed the collective structure entirely.
