Obverse description Two large elephant tusks crossed in saltire occupy the central field, their curved forms converging at the base. The circular legend REPÚBLICA DE GUINEA ECUATORIAL runs along the upper periphery, while the date 1969 appears at the bottom between two six-pointed stars, the latter serving as the Madrid Mint marks with incuse date letters.
