Obverse description Black intaglio print over yellow, ochre, and green guilloche underprint. A front-facing portrait vignette of philosopher and theologian Jaime Balmes y Urpiá (1810–1848) occupies the central field, framed by fine geometric border ornaments extending across the perimeter and background. Printed date and issuing authority inscriptions appear in the lower portion of the note.

Reverse description Black intaglio print over yellow and light green guilloche underprint, with serial number in red. The central field is occupied by an oval medallion vignette presenting a view of the Queralt Bridge and the Cathedral of Vic, in the city of Vic, Barcelona.
