Obverse description Red-on-pale note printed in an oval guilloche border with ornamental cornerpieces bearing crowned eagle vignettes at the upper sides. The central text block, in Cyrillic script, carries the treasury promise to pay the bearer, above the large bold denomination numeral '5' flanked by matching numerals at left and right. Two manuscript signatures appear beneath the titles of the President of the Main State Control and the Minister of Finance, with the date 'Cetinje, 25 July 1914' and a one-year validity clause printed at the foot within a rectangular cartouche.

Reverse description Printed entirely in red, the reverse is dominated by a dense microtext underprint of repeating 'КРАЉЕВИНА ЦРНА ГОРА' (Kingdom of Montenegro) covering the full field. Centered is the royal arms of Montenegro within an ornamental vignette, surmounted by the bold Cyrillic legend 'КРАЉЕВИНА ЦРНА ГОРА' and the denomination 'ПЕТ ПЕРПЕРА'. Below the arms, two lines of smaller text cite the legal basis of issue and a warning against counterfeiting referencing Articles 145 and 146 of the criminal code, with the denomination numeral '5' repeated in each corner.
