Obverse description At centre, the crowned Hungarian coat of arms — divided quarterly with the Árpád stripes and the apostolic double cross — is supported on either side by a standing angel draped in classical robes, each with large feathered wings spread behind them. The date 1943 appears in small numerals below the shield, flanked by the two angel figures. The denomination 5 PENGŐ is inscribed in large letters along the lower field, with the Budapest mint mark BP. directly below. The legend MAGYAR KIRÁLYSÁG (Kingdom of Hungary) curves along the upper rim in Latin script.
