Obverse description To the right, an intaglio portrait vignette of Julianna Csonka, a Palóc woman from the village of Bény, rendered in three-quarter view and dressed in traditional folk attire. At centre, a guilloche rosette surrounds two facsimile signatures above the titles ELNÖK and FŐTANÁCSOS VEZÉRIGAZGATÓ, flanked to the left by the Hungarian coat of arms with angel supporters. The denomination numeral 5 appears within a foliate guilloche cartouche on the left stub, with the date and place of issue reading BUDAPEST, 1939. ÉVI OKTÓBER HÓ 25-ÉN below the title inscription.

Reverse description The central vignette presents the statue of Sebestyén Tinódi Lantos, the 16th-century Hungarian bard and lute player, sculpted by Gyula Bezerédi, set within an arched architectural frame surmounted by a foliate crown. The figure is shown seated, holding a lute, rendered in fine intaglio line engraving. Symmetrical decorative panels with guilloche work extend to either side, and the denomination numeral 5 is repeated in the upper corners; a foliate guilloche cartouche enclosing the numeral 5 appears on the right stub.
