Obverse description The obverse features the third definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Raphael David Maklouf, depicted in right-facing profile wearing the George IV State Diadem. The queen's hair is styled in characteristic curls, with a pearl drop earring and a beaded necklace visible at the truncation. The circumferential legend reads 'ISLE OF MAN ELIZABETH II' in raised Latin characters, with the date '1985' positioned centrally at the base of the field. The Pobjoy Mint 'PM' privy mark appears below the bust truncation. The mirrored proof fields provide a sharp contrast to the finely frosted relief of the portrait.
