Gibraltar's coinage occupies an unusual constitutional position — issued by the Gibraltar Government rather than the Royal Mint, it operates outside the UK's domestic coin series while remaining legal tender within the territory. This piece pairs effigies of Charles III and Elizabeth II under the "Unseen Effigies" theme, a series concept that leans into the transitional moment between reigns. Dodi Donatella Bellat produced the Charles III effigy adopted for Gibraltar issues, which differs from Jody Clark's portrait used on standard UK coinage.
