Reverse description Central field features a large ornamental cross fleury with elaborate Renaissance foliate scrollwork filling each quarter, the whole design densely composed in the manner typical of mid-sixteenth-century Liégeois hammered silver. The arms of the Duchy of Bouillon and the County of Looz are referenced through the heraldic devices integrated within the cross composition. A beaded inner border frames the central motif, beyond which the circumferential Latin legend DVX · BVLLON COM · LOSSEN · proclaims the bishop's secular titles as Duke of Bouillon and Count of Looz. The reverse exhibits the characteristic irregular flan shape and uneven strike associated with hammered coinage of the period.
