Obverse description Central field occupied by a large quartered heraldic shield displaying the arms of Maximilian of Berghes: the upper chief quarter bears a displayed eagle, the middle quarters feature rampant lions and barry-paly charges, and the base quarters incorporate lozenges and additional heraldic devices. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle. A Latin legend in Gothic lettering encircles the entire design, reading the bishop's full titles and dignities.
