| Obverse description | Central field displays the civic arms of Macau, comprising a Portuguese-style shield charged with the quinas and castles, surmounted by a royal crown and supported on either side by winged female figures; the dexter supporter holds a cross, the sinister a terrestrial globe. A scroll beneath bears the legend CIDADE DO NOME DE DEUS DE MACAU NAO HA OUTRA MAIS LEAL. Above the arms, the Chinese characters 澳門 appear between the legend MACAU at the top and 伍圓 with 5 PATACAS at the bottom, all set within the twelve-sided flan. |
