Obverse description Central field occupied by a dense, multi-line Arabic legend in flowing script, presenting the sultan's tughra-style inscription identifying Mehmed IV as ruler. The calligraphic text fills the flan in a characteristic Ottoman hammered style, with interlocking strokes rendered in high relief. A beaded or rope inner border runs along the coin's periphery, framing the inscription. The irregular flan edges are typical of hand-struck Ottoman provincial coinage of the mid-17th century.
