Reverse description The reverse displays a circular central arrangement of Arabic legends filling the field. The numeral 5 (٥) appears prominently in the center, denoting the denomination in paras, surrounded by the Hijri regnal year 1255 (١٢٥٥) below. Concentric bands of Arabic inscription encircle the central numerals, conveying the mint formula and honorific phrase. The legends read 'May he be victorious, struck in the protected Egypt.' The border is formed by a continuous rope or beaded rim consistent with the obverse.
