Obverse description The obverse displays the state emblem of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia centered in the field, consisting of a flaming torch encircled by six wheat sheaves bound at the base by a ribbon bearing the date 29·XI·1943, the founding date of the second Yugoslavia, surmounted by a five-pointed star. The bilingual legend arcs around the periphery in both Cyrillic and Latin scripts, reading 'СФР JУГОСЛАВИJА' above and 'SFR JUGOSLAVIJA' below, separated by decorative stars at either side. A beaded border frames the entire design.
