| Obverse description | Central field features the royal symbols of Nepal: a trident (trishul) flanked by a crescent moon to the left and a rayed sun to the right, all set within a plain field. A circular Devanagari legend reading the royal title and name of King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev runs along the upper periphery. Nepal Rastra Bank, established only in 1956, was still consolidating the country's monetary system when these were struck. King Mahendra had dissolved parliament and seized direct power in 1960, ruling under the partyless Panchayat system — the coinage of this period reflects that centralized authority, issued by a national bank that itself had replaced the century-old Tejarath Adda just years earlier.
The switch to bronze for this type is the detail worth noting. Earlier issues in the series used different alloy compositions, making KM#758a a transitional piece within a short emission window.
