Additional information

Nepal's decimal coinage system was introduced under Mahendra following his father Tribhuvan's death in 1955, part of a broader administrative reorganization as the new king consolidated power after the effective end of the Rana oligarchy. These bronze paisa pieces circulated alongside older gunjo and dam denominations during a transitional period when multiple coinage systems were still in daily use across the hill districts.

KM#757 spans six years of production across a reign that would end in 1972, well before Nepal's next significant coinage reform under Birendra.
