Obverse description The Three Crowns of Sweden (Tre Kronor), the national heraldic symbol, are depicted in the upper portion of the field arranged in a two-over-one formation. The country name SVERIGE appears in bold incuse lettering in the lower field. The design is framed by a continuous border of small raised dots running along the inner rim.

Reverse description The numeral '5' is rendered in large, bold relief at the center of the field, flanked on either side by stylized wheat or laurel branches in low relief. The denomination ÖRE appears in smaller lettering below the numeral, with the mintmaster's initials U appearing beneath. The entire design is enclosed by a continuous beaded border along the inner rim, consistent with the obverse treatment.
