Obverse description The obverse features the crowned royal cipher of King Frederik IX — the interlaced monogram 'F R IX' in an ornate script — prominently centered in the field. Above the cipher, a detailed Danish royal crown surmounts the design, its arches and orb rendered with fine relief. The date, divided on either side of the crown, appears in the upper field. Mintmaster and engraver initials flank the lower field. The design is uncluttered, with no border legend, relying entirely on the royal monogram as the central motif.
