Obverse description Two sinuous dragons facing each other occupy the central field, their bodies intertwined in dynamic relief within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend in Chinese characters and Hangul script reads '大朝鮮 開國四百九十五年' (Great Joseon, founded 495 years) arranged around the upper arc, with the Hangul denomination '오냥' to the right and the Latin legend '5 NIANG' positioned along the lower arc between two small rosette stops. The entire design is contained within a toothed outer border.
