Reverse description The reverse displays the numeral '5' prominently in the centre of the field, denoting the denomination. Above the numeral, the Devanagari legend reads 'रुपये का बीसवाँ भाग' (twentieth of a rupee), and below appears 'नये पैसे' (new paise) also in Devanagari. The date of issue is inscribed below the denomination. A mint mark, when present, appears below the date: a small diamond or dot for Mumbai, a five-pointed star for Hyderabad, and an incuse dot within a diamond also for Hyderabad; the absence of a mint mark indicates Calcutta.
