Nigeria's P#24 ran across an unusually long span — from the Buhari military government through the Babangida years, the brief Shonekan interregnum, Abacha's dictatorship, and into civilian rule under Obasanjo. The same basic note circulated through coups, structural adjustment, hyperinflationary episodes, and a currency redenomination debate, which is itself a minor historical curiosity for a single continuous issue.
Nigerian paper notes of this period are frequently found with heavy soil and ink transfer from circulation in humid conditions — a known characteristic of the series, not a grading anomaly specific to individual examples.
