Reverse description Cast bronze reverse featuring a central square hole (方孔) with raised square boss, surrounded by four Chinese characters in cruciform arrangement within the inner field. The character 典 (indicating the Central Government Mint, Chonhwanguk) appears to the left, 當 (meaning 'valued at') to the right, 五 (five) below, and the series number character above, collectively denoting the mint authority, denomination, and production series. The plain outer rim and characteristically granular cast surface are typical of late Joseon monetary production.
