Obverse description Central field bears four Chinese ideograms arranged to be read top to bottom and right to left, with a decorative star or dot at the centre. The primary inscription reads 'Xuantong Yuanbao' (宣統元寶), denoting the Xuantong Emperor's currency, flanked by 'Kashgar Five Qian' (喀什錢五). A surrounding legend in Arabic script along the lower arc reads the denomination and mint: '5 Mithqal, Kashgar Mint, AH 1329'. The entire composition is enclosed within a beaded inner border and an outer decorative ring of floral and scrolling motifs.
