| Obverse description | Central device consists of a stylized olive tree with a broad, densely foliated canopy rendered in high relief, its gnarled trunk and exposed surface roots clearly delineated against a brushed field. The Arabic legend البنك المركزي التونسي (Banque Centrale de Tunisie) encircles the design in a continuous inscription along the upper and lateral periphery. The date 1960 appears in Western numerals in the lower exergual area beneath the tree. The overall design is executed in a clean, modern engraving style characteristic of mid-twentieth-century French-influenced coinage. This piece is a uniface obverse specimen, with the reverse left as a plain, blank planchet. |
