Obverse description The coat of arms of the Federation of Arab Republics occupies the central field, depicting the Hawk of Quraish displayed with wings spread, bearing a shield on its breast and clutching a scroll at its base inscribed with the federation's name in Arabic. The eagle's detailing is rendered in low relief with finely striated feathering. A circular Arabic legend in Kufic script runs along the lower periphery of the field, identifying both the Federation of Arab Republics and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
