Obverse description Printed in green and black, the obverse carries Swedish-language text across the top and Finnish-language text in the lower centre. A Czarist imperial double-headed eagle vignette appears at the left, with a large numeral 5 at the right. Two authorising signatures occupy the bottom centre, with the series year inscribed in the bottom margin.
Obverse lettering Tätä setelistä maksaa Suomen Pankki vaadittaissa Viisi Markkaa Suomen rahaa.
(Translation: For this banknote, will pay Bank of Finland on demand Five Marks of Finnish money.)
Reverse description The denomination appears in Finnish in large letters across the top, above a central numeral 5. Russian-language text occupies the lower centre. Three panels running across the bottom of the note contain anti-forgery warning text in parallel Finnish, Swedish, and Russian.
