Reverse description The Imperial German eagle displayed at center, rendered as a single-headed eagle with wings spread, bearing upon its breast a quartered escutcheon displaying the Hohenzollern arms. The eagle is surmounted by an Imperial crown with crossed scepter and orb, and the design is elaborately detailed with feathering and decorative mantling. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH arcs around the upper portion of the field, flanked by a beaded border, while the date appears to the right and the denomination 5 MARK is inscribed along the lower field, with small five-pointed stars serving as separators.
