Obverse description The obverse is printed in black and gold on cream paper and divided into three vertical panels. The left panel carries the denomination value '5 Mark' within a circular guilloche vignette and the account designation 'Konto B' at the foot. The central panel bears a sculptural war memorial vignette — a standing soldier supporting a fallen comrade atop a stone pedestal inscribed with dates — set against a radiate sunburst underprint, with the issuer's name 'Die Stadtsparkasse Schmiedeberg i.R.' in Gothic blackletter script across the top. The right panel contains the city seal of Schmiedeberg with the Latin legend 'SIGIL. CIVITATIS REGIÆ SCHMIEDEBERGENSIS' and a dated manuscript inscription area above a printed serial number at the lower right, with the printer's imprint 'Flemming-Wiskott-A.-G.-Glogau' along the bottom margin.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in a rich multicolour scheme of black, blue, green, and gold. Flanking vertical panels in black carry stylised floral and foliate ornamental motifs with the denomination '5 M' in blue cartouches at the lower corners. The large central vignette presents a detailed landscape view of Schloss Neuhof as it appeared in the 18th century, rendered in a painterly style with lush tree foliage, a gabled manor house, and an open sky with clouds. The title 'Schmiedeberg im Riesengebirge' appears in Gothic script at the top, and the caption 'Schloß Neuhof im 18. Jahrhundert' is set in Gothic blackletter along the lower edge, with the design registration mark 'D.R.G.M. 795679' printed beneath the lower border.
