| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in dark green and brown on a cream guilloche underprint ground with a geometric star-hexagon watermark pattern. A brown vignette of the Mansfeld copper-mining works complex spans the centre as a background image, with two circular control stamps affixed at left and right. The issuer's name in ornate Fraktur script occupies the upper portion, the denomination 'Fünf Mark' is set in large blackletter text at centre, and the validity clause 'Gültig bis 31. Mai 1919' together with the redemption obligation legend appear in Fraktur at the foot of the note, with the serial number printed in red at upper right. |
