Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Ludwig II of Bavaria facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed wavy hair. The truncation is unadorned, and the engraver's signature C. VOIGT appears incuse along the lower rim. The circular legend reads LUDWIG II KŒNIG V. BAYERN, disposed around the portrait between an inner beaded border and the raised rim. The portrait displays the idealized, youthful features characteristic of Voigt's medallic style of the period.
