Reverse description The German Imperial eagle displayed, with wings spread and head turned to the right, surmounted by an Imperial crown bearing a cross finial. The breast is charged with a shield bearing the Hohenzollern arms, encircled by the chain of the Order of the Black Eagle. Below the eagle's tail feathers, elaborate acanthus-scroll mantling fills the lower field, with the denomination FÜNF MARK inscribed in the exergual area. The legend DEUTSCHES REICH flanks the eagle on left and right, with the date 1904 on the right side, and two small stars flank the lower legend. A dentilated border encloses the design.
