Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Frederick I, Grand Duke of Baden, facing left, with a full beard and mustache rendered in fine detail. The effigy is boldly modeled in high relief against a flat field. The encircling legend reads FRIEDRICH GROSHERZOG VON BADEN, arching around the upper periphery. The mint mark G appears at the base of the truncation. The coin is bordered by a continuous beaded rim.
