| Obverse description | Blue letterpress Notgeld gutschein on plain paper, enclosed within a decorative border of repeated scroll and floral chain motifs. The centre bears a triple-oval guilloche underprint in pale blue, upon which the large bold numeral '5' and the denomination legend 'Mark' are superimposed in dark blue Fraktur script, with smaller '5 Mark' value panels flanking left and right. The issuer's name 'Marktgemeinde Diessen am Ammersee' appears across the top in Gothic lettering, 'Reihe A' is noted at upper left, and a red serial number with asterisk is printed at upper right; the place and date 'Diessen am Ammersee, den 22. April 1919' appear at lower left, with the authorising inscription 'Magistrat Diessen' and a manuscript signature in red ink at lower right. |
