| Obverse description | The left portion of the note is occupied by a vignette of the Hermannsdenkmal (Hermann Monument) near Detmold, rendered in fine letterpress engraving against a floral-bordered inner frame. To the right, the denomination 'Fünf Mark' is set in large Gothic blackletter script, with a red serial number in the upper right corner and a large rust-coloured numeral '5' as underprint. The issuing text, date of 13 November 1918, the authority 'Fürstlich Lippische Regierung', and two manuscript facsimile signatures appear in the lower portion, with a validity clause running along the bottom margin. |
