| Obverse description | The obverse is dominated by a large Moorish-style arched vignette in the centre, rendered in a multicolour guilloche underprint of rose, green, and ochre. The bank name in Arabic script appears at the top centre, flanked by the denomination numeral '5' in the upper corners, with serial number and check letter positioned along the top margin. Two manuscript signatures appear in the lower centre, with Arabic text legends carrying the legal tender clause running along the lower portion of the note; an overprint reading 'SYRIE 1939' is applied diagonally across the face. |
