| Obverse description | The obverse features the national coat of arms of the Kingdom of Lesotho centrally positioned in the field, depicting a shield charged with a crocodile, supported by two rampant horses on either side, and surmounted by a Basotho hat above crossed assegais. A ribbon below the shield bears the national motto legend KHOTSO PULA NALA. The arc legend KINGDOM OF LESOTHO runs along the upper periphery, and the date 1998 appears in the lower field. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
