| Obverse description | The Maltese national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a cross and vertical lines, encircled by a wreath of olive branches. Above the shield rests a mural crown with five visible battlements, rendered in fine relief. A scroll or ribbon device appears at the base of the arms.
