Obverse description Within the brass centre, a stylized bird in flight is depicted in high relief, rendered in a bold, modernist artistic style with rounded, abstracted forms suggestive of an athlete in motion. The copper-nickel outer ring carries the legend TÜRKİYE CUMHURİYETİ arching along the upper periphery and 5 YENİ TÜRK LİRASI along the lower periphery, all in incuse Latin lettering.

Reverse description The brass centre displays the official logo of the 23rd Summer Universiade, rendered as a large stylized letter 'U' in high relief, its interior incorporating a map outline evoking the host city of İzmir.
