Obverse description The Bulgarian state coat of arms occupies the central field, displaying a crowned shield bearing a rampant lion, supported on either side by two rampant lions resting on decorative mantling. Two crossed flags of Bulgaria flank the royal crown above the shield, and an ornamental base with rosettes anchors the composition at the bottom. The entire armorial device is enclosed within a twisted rope border, itself surrounded by a beaded outer rim. The Cyrillic legend БЪЛГАРИЯ curving along the upper periphery and СЪЕДИНЕНИЕ-ТО ПРАВИ СИЛА-ТА along the lower periphery together form the national motto, separated by five-pointed star ornaments.
Obverse script Cyrillic
