The P#59 series was issued during a period when Honduras was cycling through military governments at speed — General López Arellano had just been ousted in a corruption scandal tied to the United Brands banana bribery affair, and the Central Bank was operating under considerable institutional strain. The American Bank Note Company had printed Honduran issues for decades by this point, and the relationship was essentially one of continuity rather than choice.
Look for the signature combinations, which changed at least twice across the 1974–1978 span and are the primary means of distinguishing earlier from later printings within the series.
