| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of King Erekle II (Heraclius II) of Georgia, depicted with a full beard and moustache, wearing a traditional layered papakhi headdress and ornate royal garments with decorative epaulettes. To the left of the effigy, a Georgian sword is depicted vertically in the field, flanked by the birth and death years '1720' and '1798' on either side. The Georgian name of the king, 'ერეკლე', appears in Mkhedruli script in the upper left field. At the lower centre, a gilt inset medallion bears the royal Georgian emblem featuring a crown, scales of justice, and a globe with cross, rendered in gold-coloured selective plating against the mirrored proof field. |
