Reverse description Three-quarter effigy of King Bagrat III, the first King of unified Georgia (975–1014), depicted holding a model of the Bedia Cathedral in his right hand as a symbol of his patronage of religious architecture. To the left within the inner circle appears the gilded Bedia Chalice, a celebrated medieval ecclesiastical artifact associated with his reign. A Georgian Mkhedruli inscription at the top of the field records the monarch's name and regnal dates ბაგრატ III 975–1014.
