| Obverse description | Central field features a colored miniature reproduction of a seated Evangelist Luke, taken from the 12th-century Gelati Four Gospels manuscript, depicted in three-quarter view facing right with an open book resting on his knees. The Georgian country name in Mkhedruli script and the date 2018 appear flanking the figure, with the English legend GEORGIA also present. In the upper right portion of the field, a colored fragment of the Mokvi Four Gospels (AD 1300), comprising Matthew 24:3–8 in Georgian Nuskhuri script with abbreviated words, is reproduced, and is accompanied by a stylized polychrome capital Asomtavruli letter. Below this manuscript fragment, inscriptions in both Latin and Georgian Asomtavruli script record the dates commemorating the first printed Georgian book in Rome (MDCXXIX / 1629) and the first book printed in Georgia in Tbilisi (1709). |

| Reverse description | Center features a stylized composition in which multiple forms of the Georgian letter ა (an) are arranged to create a decorative logo representing Georgia's participation as Guest of Honour at the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2018. The denomination 5 and the Lari currency symbol appear prominently, with the value also expressed in Georgian Mkhedruli script as ლარი. A circular legend in German and English surrounds the central design, referencing the Frankfurt Book Fair 2018 and Georgia's role at the event. |
