Obverse description The obverse features the crowned arms of the Bishopric of Fulda displayed within an ornate diamond-shaped (lozenge) cartouche, decorated with elaborate rococo scrollwork and foliage. The shield bears the characteristic Fulda arms topped by a bishop's mitre and cross. To the left and right of the cartouche appear the initials F• F•, flanking the central device. The mint-master's initials I•M appear in the lower exergual area below the cartouche. The entire design is surrounded by a finely milled border with scrolling ornamental details.
